In this phase, I’ll guide you in envisioning your book as itwould be out in the world and in the hands of readers to give you direction onhow to best structure sections and chapters to create a bold narrative arc.

Over an agreed-upon time frame (from three to six weeks) wewill build a solid foundation for your book by working through your project goals,clarifying who your ideal reader is, seeing where your book might fit withexisting books,

  • One 30-minute pre-coaching call to discuss your goals
  • A digital guide to planning and developing your nonfiction book
  • Three rounds of deadlines with editorial feedback
  • Three 45-minute video calls to guide you in your progress
  • A 30-minute post-coaching call to ensure you feel confident in your next steps
         

Crafting a Proposal

Creating a pitch-perfect proposal is vital to grabbing theattention of gatekeepers. Our work here will expand on the steps completed inthe planning phase so you can craft the best proposal possible to representyour book. This work can often take months to complete.

I’ll give you regular guidance and keep you on track duringthis complicated, involved process. Once we agree on a timeline that will workbest with your goals and life demands, I will give you assignments based onproposal elements on which you’ll receive feedback.

  • A digital guide to writing a proposal for your nonfiction book
  • Regular deadlines for completing proposal elements, with editorial feedback
  • Regular 45-minute video calls to guide you in your progress
  • A 30-minute video call on completion to discuss the next steps

Pitching the Proposal

Once your proposal is ready, it’s time to narrow down whichagents and publishers might be a good fit for you and your book. I’ll guide youduring this nuanced process by researching agents and helping you write aspot-on query letter. We’ll also develop a strategic plan for pitching yourproposal.

The Pitching Your Proposal service includes:

  • A 60-minute video call to discuss goals and outline tasks
  • I will search out and suggest agents as possible good fits for you and your book
  • Assistance crafting a query letter that can be customized to agents
  • Two additional video calls to discuss strategy and next steps

Monthly Book Coaching

 Get custom support on a monthly basis with ongoing editorialguidance. Staying focused on the long-haul task of working through what islikely to be multiple drafts of your typescript can be challenging when you’redoing it alone.

I can help you stay true to the book you’ve planned, provideaccountability with regular deadlines, and give you tailored insights througheditorial feedback. Plus, if you’re feeling stuck or uninspired, I’llbrainstorm with you through several one-on-one coaching calls.

Monthly book coaching starts with a 3-month packagewith the option to add additional months as needed.

The Monthly Book Coaching service includes:

  • A 30-minute initial video call to explore your goals and define your challenges
  • Three monthly deadlines to submit up to 20 pages of writing (5,000 words)
  • Detailed on-page editorial feedback
  • Editorial letter with customized action steps
  • Three 60-minute video calls to clarify issues and questions, discuss next steps,   and determine the next month’s focus
